Outlook:
Though nickel prices went down slightly, the prices of ternary precursor were still flat. The demand from ternary cathode material factories was limited and the purchases was mainly according to needs. Thus market transactions were long-term orders. In addition, the production in October declined due to the accumulated inventory restocking. Thus, the precursor prices are likely to stabilize in the next month.
The prices of ternary cathode materials were little changed, while the price reduction of medium and low nickel materials was more significant. The top-tier cathode material factories maintained normal production, while the small ones had to slightly reduce the production. Meanwhile, the price competition was still fierce, and market transactions were still dominated by long-term agreements. The price of ternary cathode materials is expected to weaken next month.
