DAILY: China's spot rebar prices slip for 5th day, but sales jump

China's rebar prices in the physical market continued trending south for five straight workdays by November 4, while spot trading for the long steel item rebounded significantly from the prior losses.

On Monday, the national price of HRB400E 20mm diameter rebar under Mysteel's assessment settled lower at Yuan 3,584/tonne ($504.8/t) including the 13% VAT, down by another Yuan 22/t from Friday. In the derivatives market, however, the Shanghai Futures Exchange's most-traded January rebar contract closed the daytime trading session at Yuan 3,425/t
