Outlook:
Although cobalt salt prices dropped slightly, the ternary precursor prices remained stable amid stable nickel salt prices. Meanwhile, the market trading atmosphere was sluggish and ternary cathode material factories had less willingness to purchase, and transactions were dominated by long-term orders. In addition, some precursor manufacturers may adjust their production plans as they were worried about the potential orders cut. It is estimated that the precursor prices may run weakly in the short period.
The prices of ternary cathode materials were little changed, although cobalt and lithium salt prices moved down slightly. The industry entered a traditional off-season in November and a few enterprises may reduce their production largely due to destocking purpose. The demand for the e-bike battery market was improved, but the prices competition were still fierce. It is likely that the prices of ternary cathode materials will remain stable in the near term.
