WEEKLY: China BF mills' production falls to 2-mth low

Production among Chinese blast furnace (BF) steel producers continued falling this week with mills conducting more maintenance stoppages amid their persistently thinning profit margins, Mysteel's latest survey showed.

The average capacity utilization rate of the 247 BF steelmakers under Mysteel's regular tracking dropped for the third straight week by another 0.47 percentage point on week to touch a two-month low of 87.33% during November 29-December 5, with their daily hot metal production decreasing 12,600 tonnes/day or 0.54%
