Mysteel data shows that total primary aluminum production was 3.336 million tonnes in November, up 7.1% on year. Daily output was 111,200 tonnes, up 200 tonnes from a month ago.

China's primary aluminum installed capacity reached 44.69 million tonnes/a by the end of November , rising 0.3% on month and 3.7% on year. The operating capacity was 40.76 million tonnes/a, up 0.5% on month and 7.9% on year.

There were 235,800 tonnes of capacity being resumed in November, which were concentrated in Guangxi and Sichuan. According to Mysteel's survey, Baikuang Aluminum and Suyuan Investment are expected to recover to full capacity running in December 2022 to January 2023, which will be slower than expected. The restarts in Sichuan are faster than our previous expectations.

In terms of new commissioning, 105,000 tonnes of smelting capacity have been commissioned in November. Mysteel survey shows that SPIC's greenfield project in Inner Mongolia, which started production in October, continued to ramp up capacity in November, and the original target of putting 150,000 tonnes into operation this year has been completed in November. Jinjiang Group's Zhongrui Aluminum in Gansu is expected to reach full capacity of 292,000 tonnes/a in December.
