Colombia's September coal exports jump 60.8% from August's low

Total coal exports from Colombia, the world's sixth-largest coal exporter, soared by 60.8% on month to 4.9 million tonnes during September, marking a quick recovery from the more-than-four-year low of 3.05 million tonnes seen in August, the latest data from the National Administrative Department of Statistics of Colombia (DANE) show.

The figure, however, still represented a small 0.94% fall compared with the same month last year, Mysteel Global noted. The country's coal exports have experienced frequent fluctuations this year, with intense rains, railway blockages and trade flow changes mainly the reasons, according to Chinese market sources. Since late October, disruptions to
