FLASH: Tokyo Steel holds product prices for December
"In the domestic market, demand for steel products has been at a low level nationwide as a result of the ongoing adjustment of orders by construction companies (while) in overseas markets, the environment surrounding steel-related products has not yet reached a full-fledged reversal, although momentum has generally begun to bottom-out in each country," the company said in a statement.
The announcement means that the steelmaker's price for 100x100~300x300 mm H-beams stays at Yen 115,000/tonne ($746/t), that for its 13-25 mm diameter 'base size' rebars holds at Yen 88,000/t, and its price for 1.7-22mm SPHC-grade hot rolled coils remains at Yen 92,000/t.
