On December 6th, it was announced that the lithium extraction project from spodumene of Ganfeng Lithium in Puguang Industrial Park, Xuanhan County, Dazhou City, Sichuan Province has been officially completed and put into operation. This is also the world's largest single line production line for lithium extraction from spodumene.
The project started construction in mid July 2023, ignited the rotary kiln on October 30, 2024, and produced qualified battery-grade lithium carbonate products on November 26 of the same year. The lithium hydroxide workshop has also been put into operation and will soon produce battery-grade lithium hydroxide monohydrate products. After the trial production phase of capacity ramp up, it is expected to achieve a production of 45,000 tonnes of battery-grade lithium carbonate and battery-grade lithium hydroxide monohydrate in 2025.
