India's coal imports via state ports fall 16% YoY in November

India imported 15.19 million tonnes of coal products via its 12 major state-run ports in November, declining by a sizeable 16.2% on year despite a 6.4% rebound from October, Mysteel Global calculated based on the latest data from the Indian Ports Association (IPA) which provides year-to-date volumes every month.

Of the total, India's thermal coal imports last month via ports such as Mumbai Port in Maharashtra State and Visakhapatnam Port in Andhra Pradesh were 15.4% lower on year at 9.78 million tonnes, which was also 7.2% down from October. Thermal coal imports accounted for 64.4% of the total
