China's lithium carbonate imports stood at 28,000 tonnes in December, up 45.7% month on month and up 37.9% year on year, according to data from the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China. The imports from Chile amounted to 4,542 tonnes, down 27.6% month-on-month but up 55.8% year-on-year.
China's imports of lithium carbonate from January to December totaled 23,500 tonnes, an increase of 48.0% YoY. Specially, the imports from Chile and Argentina rose 32.4% and 154.8% YoY respectively to 183,600 tonnes and 46,500 tonnes in 2024.
