Brazil's global iron ore exports jump 6% YoY in Jan

Brazil's iron ore exports worldwide totalled some 31 million tonnes in January, higher by 5.9% from the same month last year, according to new statistics from Comex Stat, a data platform for Brazilian foreign trade in goods. Last month's total was also up by 0.9% from December, the data show.

Iron ore cargoes shipped from Brazil to China, the country's largest buyer of the commodity, reached 21.7 million tonnes last month, higher by 2% from January 2024 and by 6.2% on month, the Comex data show.
