Vale to invest $12 bln to boost Carajas iron ore production

Brazilian mining giant Vale has announced it will invest about R$70 billion ($12.3 billion) in its mining operations in the Carajas region in Northern Brazil's Para state over the coming five years to 2030, aimed at lifting iron ore and copper output in the region, according to the miner's latest release.
