GACC: China's steel exports fall 8% YoY to 45 million tonnes in Jan-May

China's exports of finished steel over January-May totaled 44.55 million tonnes, lower by 8.1% from the first five months of last year, according to the latest statistics from the country's General Administration of Customs (GACC) published on June 9.

During May alone, China exported 10.34 million tonnes of finished steel, down by 2.2% on year, the GACC data show. The rate of decrease slowed significantly from the 9.2% on-year fall seen during April, however, Mysteel Global noted.
