WEEKLY: China's iron ore port stocks retreat to 112 mln t

Inventories of imported iron ore piled at China's 45 major ports under Mysteel's survey ended a four-week rise, retreating by 816,500 tonnes or 0.7% on week to 112.3 million tonnes on November 16. The fall in stocks was mainly driven by the slump in iron ore arrivals which outpaced the small dip in total discharge volume at the ports.

During November 6-12, the same 45 ports received 20.5 million tonnes of iron ore, with the volume falling for the second week by a huge 5.4 million tonnes or 20.9% on week, Mysteel's shipments tracking showed. On the other hand, the ore discharged daily from these ports reversed two weeks
