China’s nonferrous metals scrap imports slump in Jan-Feb

ABSTRACT
China imported 119,520 tonnes of copper scrap during January-February, representing a massive fall of 48.5% on year, as against the 38.4% on-year decline for 2019 full-year imports, Mysteel Global calculated based on the latest data from China’s Administration of Customs.

The imports of aluminum scrap over the first two months of 2020 also slumped by 40.3% on year to reach 122,204 tonnes, the declining pace accelerating compared with the 10.9% year-on-year decrease in total 2019 imports, the statistics showed.
