MYSTEEL: China's SiMn output down 2.5% in May

ABSTRACT
Total silicomanganese output among the 121 Chinese smelters under Mysteel's regular tracking continued to decrease in May, falling by another 22,870 tonnes or 2.5% from the previous month to 883,300 tonnes. The 121 sampled smelters host almost all of the country's SiMn smelting capacity.
Daily SiMn output among the surveyed smelters averaged 28,494 tonnes/day in May, posting a sharper fall of 1,711 t/d or 5.7% on month, as against the dip of 73 t/d in April compared with March, Mysteel's survey showed.   The significant decrease in last month's result was mainly attributed to the
