2026 Singapore Iron Ore and Steel Forum

Iron Ore Steel

Shaping the Future of Iron Ore and Steel: Markets, Resources and Green Transition

With the continued engagement of global ferrous industry participants, Singapore International Ferrous Week (SIFW) has grown into one of the most prominent annual gatherings for the international steel community. In 2025, the event welcomed more than 6,200 participants from 25 countries and regions, bringing together mining companies, steel producers, traders, shipping firms, financial institutions, research organizations and policymakers. The event has become an important venue for industry dialogue, market insights and cross-border collaboration.

As part of this week of industry events, Mysteel and SGX Commodities will jointly host the 2026 Singapore Iron Ore and Steel Forum on June 16, 2026.

The global iron ore and steel industries are entering a new phase of adjustment. Changes in China’s steel demand structure, expanding steel production capacity in India and Southeast Asia, and evolving patterns of iron ore supply are influencing trade flows and regional market dynamics. At the same time, the push toward lower-carbon steelmaking is reshaping how the industry approaches resource utilization and production strategies.

Against this backdrop, the forum will bring together iron ore producers, steelmakers, traders, shipping companies, financial institutions and market specialists to exchange views on several major themes shaping the industry, including:
Macroeconomic Landscape and Policy Outlook
– Global economic developments, commodity cycles and the evolving regulatory environment affecting the steel sector.
China’s Steel Raw Materials Market
– Market dynamics of China’s ferrous raw materials, domestic resource development and the industry’s pathway toward higher efficiency and lower emissions.
Emerging Market Demand and Resource Landscape
– The growth of steel demand in India and Southeast Asia, alongside the development of iron ore resources in regions such as Africa.
Green Steel Transition and High-Grade Ore
– Market developments in DRI production, supply of DR-grade concentrates and pellets, and the implications for high-grade ore demand.
Derivatives Markets and Risk Management
– The evolution of iron ore derivatives trading and the increasing use of futures and basis trading tools in market risk management.

Through keynote presentations and roundtable discussions, the 2026 Singapore Iron Ore and Steel Forum will offer a platform for industry leaders to share perspectives, deepen market understanding and strengthen connections across the global ferrous supply chain.
