Japan's export ship orders soar 67% YoY in Sept

Japan's major shipbuilders saw their orders for new vessels for export in September jump by two-thirds on year but the increase was not enough to offset the slide during the April-September period, the first half of the current fiscal year, where the contract volume reached just 4.24 million gross tons (GT), down by a huge 36.3% year-on-year, according to new data released by the Japan Ship Exporters' Association (JSEA).
