WEEKLY: Tangshan billet prices strengthen

Billet & Bloom Demand Price Production
Billet prices in Tangshan in North China's Hebei province gained momentum over December 4-10 due to rising production costs and improved ferrous market sentiment, according to Mysteel's weekly survey. Both demand and production of the semis weakened during the survey period, however.
As of December 10, the Q235 150mm square billet price in Tangshan had climbed by a large Yuan 80/tonne ($11.1/t) on week to Yuan 3,710/t EXW and including the 13% VAT, according to Mysteel's assessment.   Thanks to the rebound in billet prices, losses on billet sales suffered by local steelmakers
