WEEKLY: China's rebar output at 2.5-month high

Rebar output among the 137 Chinese steel producers under Mysteel's regular survey reached a 2.5-month high during the week over September 26-October 2, the last week before most of China stopped for the National Day holiday, the latest survey results showed.

The increase during the survey week of 9.6% or 196,800 tonnes on week took the total to 2.25 million tonnes and occurred chiefly because many integrated mills and mini-mills had resumed operations or lifted production to capitalise on improved profit margins, a survey respondent said.
