Mysteel: Alumina price decline continues to weigh on bauxite prices

On Feb 7, Mysteel downgraded the assessment of Guinea bauxite (AL: 45%, SI: 3%) to $112/dmt, down $2/dmt on week. The assessment for Australia bauxite (Al:50%,Si:6.5%) was $97/dmt, unchanged from a week ago, which was relatively stable due to low spot availability.

Bauxite prices have started a downward trajectory amid a steep fall in alumina prices. China's alumina producers continued to lower purchase prices for raw materials due to squeezed margins.
