WEEKLY: China mills' imported iron ore stocks rise slightly

Inventories of imported iron ore sintering fines stockpiled at the 64 Chinese steel mills under Mysteel's regular monitoring had risen by 74,100 tonnes or 0.6% on week to 12.3 million tonnes as of March 5, Mysteel's latest survey results showed.

Behind the slight increase in stocks was a marked reduction in the consumption of this steelmaking material among the sampled steel mills, Mysteel Global noted. The daily usage of imported ore sintering fines among the 64 mills combined averaged 542,800 tonnes/day during February 27-March 5, moving down by 25,900 t/d
