The board of directors of Japan's largest independent mini-mill, Tokyo Steel Manufacturing, formally approved a proposal last Friday to modify the existing hot-dip galvanized line at the company's Okayama works in western Japan and build a dual-purpose line capable of producing both cold-rolled and hot dipped galvanized coils.
The remodelling of the line will cost about Yen 10 billion ($70 million) and once completed – expected around spring 2027 – the line will have a total capacity in CRC and HDG in the thickness range of 0.3 mm to 2.3 mm  DG HDG of 250,000 tonnes/year, the
