China refineries' CDU CURs likely to keep rising through June

According to OilChem's survey of domestic refineries' production scheduling, it is estimated that the CDU capacity utilization rates (CURs) of China's refineries will keep rising throughout June, which is probably the best performing month since the first quarter of 2024. Specially, the CDU CURs averaged 69.74% in the week ending June 5, up 2.58 percentage points from the previous session and 2.3 percentage points compared with the same period last year, the first time the weekly CURs increased year-on-year since the beginning of 2025. China LPG market ends prolonged weakness on stronger fundamentals

After experiencing a longstanding weakness, domestic liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) market strengthened recently, with residential gas and etherified C4 prices both climbing, amid supply shrinkage in some areas and short-lived demand improvement. Recently, domestic LPG market ushered in a long-awaited broad-based upward trend. Although the increase in residential gas prices was slight, it covered a large scale. The factors supporting this rise in LPG prices varied across regions. Specifically, in Shandong, the price increase was primarily driven by the restart of two downstream units, with one being an isobutane dehydrogenation unit and the other a mixed alkane dehydrogenation unit. Prebaked anode new capacity release to push up consumption for petcoke

Thanks to a continued release of new capacities, prebaked anode market has consistently held the top position in the consumption of petcoke, and is predicted to contribute nearly 56% of total consumption for petcoke in 2025. Compared with a year ago, although the figure declined by 1 percentage point, the actual consumption is expected to increase by about 2.20 million tonnes, according to OilChem. Read Full Story
