DAILY: China's rebar prices rise further, but sales decline sharply

China's rebar prices extended gains in both the physical and futures markets on July 3 amid improved market sentiment, though spot trading volumes for the long steel declined sharply.

On Thursday, the national price of HRB400E 20mm diameter rebar under Mysteel's assessment increased by Yuan 18/tonne ($2.5/t) on day to Yuan 3,246/t including the 13% VAT. In the derivatives market, the most-traded October rebar contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange also rose by Yuan 44/t from the prior day's settlement
