Russian Railways records increase in ferrous metal transportation in H1

Ferrous Demand Global Import/Export
According to Russian Railways, in January-June 2025, the volume of ferrous metal transportation by rail increased by 13.3% compared to the same period last year, reaching 12.3 million tonnes.
A significant portion of the cargo -- 8.9 million tonnes -- was sent to seaports, which is 15.8% higher than the figures for the first half of 2024.   Export deliveries through border crossings also showed positive dynamics, amounting to 3.4 million tonnes with an increase of 6.8% year on year.
