MYSTEEL: Lump ratio in China's blast furnaces at 2-month high

Chinese integrated steelmakers have been consuming more lumps in their blast furnaces (BFs) lately, not only due to reduced supply of sintered ore but also because lumps are showing better cost performance, Mysteel Global notes.

Mysteel's regular tracking of the 114 domestic integrated steelmakers indicated that over July 17-23, the portion of imported iron ore lump feeds in their BFs climbed for the second straight week to reach a two-month high of 10.75%. In contrast, the ratio of sintered ore feeds in BFs among these
