WEEKLY: Chinese met coal washeries slow production amid market caution

The processed coal production at China's 314 independent coking coal wash plants Mysteel regularly tracks averaged 257,200 tonnes/day during August 13-19, declining by 2.6% from the week prior, according to Mysteel's latest survey.

Some surveyed wash plants had opted to scale back production amid mounting concerns about potential price declines in the near future, aiming to avoid building stocks into a softer market. This had led to the overall drop in the 314 coal washeries' output, according to survey respondents. In fact, according
