DAILY: China's coking coal trades slow further, prices dip

China's coking coal transactions remained lackluster as of August 29 due to the waning interest from both end-users and traders, adding more downward pressure on prices of some coal varieties.

Mysteel's assessment of the national composite coking coal price settled at Yuan 1,196.4/tonne ($167.7/t) on Friday, including the 13% VAT, dipping by Yuan 0.2/t from the previous day. On Friday, a major miner in Yan'an city, Northwest China's Shaanxi province, cut its offering prices for gas coal by Yuan 20/t
