DAILY: China's met coke market to hold firm in the near term

China's metallurgical coke market remained steady on October 31. Analysts expected that the market would keep resilient over much of November's first half, with the latest price hike that coke makers proposed last Wednesday to materialize this week.

Last Friday, no steelmaker replied to coke producers' request for higher met coke prices, marking a delay of this price increase, the third bout since early October, according to market sources. Mysteel's assessment of Chinese quasi-first-grade met coke prices, for wet-quenching and dry-quenching types respectively, stood at Yuan 1,468.8/tonne ($206.4/t)
