DAILY: Chinese alumina prices move downward in spot, futures markets

China's alumina prices in both spot and futures markets declined on November 21, with Mysteel assessing the national average spot price for smelter-grade alumina with a purity above 98.6% at Yuan 2,856/tonne ($402/t) including the 13%, down by 4/t from the previous day.

The slight dip was primarily driven by lower transaction prices in southern regions among China's major alumina-producing hubs. In the Guangxi autonomous region and Guizhou province, the assessed prices for the same grade of alumina fell by Yuan 5/t and Yuan 15/t respectively, settling at Yuan 2,900/t and Yuan 2,920/t
