WEEKLY: China's thermal coal remains stable, risks may loom

China's spot thermal coal market remained in a stalemate during the week of November 17-21, with prices showing little movement amid balanced weights of positive outlook and subdued demand.

As of November 21, Mysteel's assessment for the benchmark 5,500 kcal/kg thermal coal at China's northern ports stood flat for the seventh straight session at Yuan 830/tonne ($116.8/t), while that for 5,000 kcal/kg and 4,500 kcal/kg NAR grades also stabilized at Yuan 737/t and Yuan 638/t, all on FOB
