The nickel ore market was relatively quiet yesterday, with prices remaining stable. In the Philippines, shipments from northern mines remained somewhat unstable. Although the latest tender prices from mines edged lower, they continued to stand at elevated levels. Downstream nickel pig iron transactions declined to Yuan 880/mtu (including delivery and VAT), contributing to weak market confidence. NPI producers currently showed low production enthusiasm and maintained a wait-and-see approach towards raw material nickel ore procurement.Meanwhile, nickel prices exhibited a stronger trend yesterday. Downstream enterprises primarily made purchases based on immediate needs. Spot premiums and discounts for various brands of refined nickel remained generally stable. Due to production cuts by suppliers, discounted spot resources were scarce in the market. Producers also demonstrated a willingness to support prices, maintaining high premiums over SHFE nickel prices in their offers.
