DAILY: Chinese imported iron ore prices rise, seaborne trading surges

China’s imported iron ore prices moved higher in both the portside and seaborne markets on November 25, while trading volume in the seaborne market jumped to a near one-month high.

On Tuesday, Mysteel PORTDEX 62% Australian Fines in Qingdao increased by Yuan 2/wmt ($0.3/wmt) from Monday to Yuan 797/wmt FOT and including the 13% VAT, while Mysteel SEADEX 62% Australian Fines rose by $0.85/dmt from the prior day to $105.6/dmt CFR Qingdao. In the derivatives market, most domestic iron ore futures closed higher today.
