On November 10, China's Foreign Ministry announced that it would send a special representative to attend the inauguration ceremony of the Simandou iron ore project the following day. The event on November 11 was attended by the President of Guinea, along with representatives from the Winning Consortium Simandou (WCS), China Baowu, Chinalco, and Rio Tinto.
