The nickel ore market remained calm. Prices existed in name only with little physical material available, as the market awaited new tenders from mines. In Indonesia, the benchmark price for the first period of December fell by $0.52-$0.91/wmt. Regarding domestic premiums, the mainstream level moved to $25/wmt, generally within a range of $25 to $26/wmt. Overall, nickel ore prices experienced a decline. Nickel prices traded within a range yesterday, while spot transactions for refined nickel were muted overall. Jinchuan electrolytic nickel resources remained tight, leading to another rise in their spot premium. In contrast, increased supply of Jinchuan nickel from producers resulted in a slight downward shift in its transaction focus. Supplies of other nickel brands were generally ample. With SHFE nickel futures warehouse receipts surging by 2,501 tonnes to 35,096 tonnes yesterday, increased competition led to lower premiums for most brands.
