Following last night's 25-basis-point interest rate cut by the Federal Reserve, market expectations suggest that if China follows suit, it could enhance the internal rate of return (IRR) for energy storage projects and reinforce the certainty of high demand growth. Moreover, a reduction in financing costs would expand the room for battery cell price increases, which could translate into higher lithium carbonate prices. Additionally, sustained stockpiling demand from cathode plants is supporting lithium salt prices.
