In the Philippines, the tender for 1.3% ore from the Benguet mine in the north was finalized at $33.5/wmt FOB, with the price rising compared to the previous period.Yesterday, SHFE nickel prices rose sharply, while overall spot trading for refined nickel remained subdued. Spot premiums for Jinchuan nickel resources remained at elevated levels, while the average transaction price for spot premiums/discounts of nickel from brands such as Huayou and GEM edged slightly lower. A limited number of traders offered Norwegian and NORNICKEL nickel from their inventories, resulting in a significant increase in their premiums/discounts. The import window for refined nickel remained open, prompting many import traders to lock in prices or engage in arbitrage hedging between domestic and international markets.
