WEEKLY: China's met coke output drops to 20-month low

Metallurgical coke production among the 230 independent producers under Mysteel's nationwide survey trended lower over the week to December 24 to hit a 20-month low, mainly driven by worsening profits from consecutive price cuts and low demand from steelmakers, according to Mysteel's latest survey.

Over December 18-24, met coke output among the 230 surveyed producers dropped further by another 0.2% on week to 492,300 tonnes/day on average, the lowest level since late April last year, Mysteel's data showed.
