For lithium carbonate, the futures price hit limit down yesterday amidst the release of new tariff policy. On December 26, the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council released the 2026 tariff adjustment plan, implementing provisional import tariffs lower than the Most-Favored-Nation (MFN) rates on 935 categories of goods. These include lithium carbonate, spodumene, and black mass from lithium-ion batteries. Nevertheless, the price cut significantly boosted the spot transactions, prompting the players to close their back-pricing orders placed earlier.
