WEEKLY: China's HRC output inches up after 3-w fall

Production of hot-rolled coils (HRC) among the 37 Chinese steelmakers regularly surveyed by Mysteel saw a slight uptick during December 18-24, up by 0.56% or 16,300 tonnes on week to 2.94 million tonnes, the latest survey results found.
Some of the rolling lines and blast furnaces taken offline for maintenance work resumed operations during the survey week, leading to a small rebound in HRC output.   As a result, the HRC rolling capacity utilization rate among the sampled mills rose by 0.41 percentage point on week to average 74.99% during the survey
