DAILY: China's met coke sentiment improves on new price hike attempts

Sentiment in China's metallurgical coke market improved on January 12, after two coke producers in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region proposed Yuan 50-55/tonne ($7-7.7/t) hikes in their selling prices. This had accelerated coke trading in some producing regions of China, Mysteel learned.

Yesterday, a coke producer in Wuhai city, Inner Mongolia, notified their steelmaker customers of a Yuan 50/t hike in its factory-gate prices for second- and third-grade met coke products, effective on Tuesday. Another firm in Ordos city also decided to raise its selling prices for dry-quenching met coke cargoes
