WEEKLY: Chinese mills' steel stocks decline

Inventories of the five major carbon steel products held by the Chinese steel mills sampled in Mysteel's regular survey declined during January 9-15 to reach 3.81 million tonnes, falling by 2.1% on week after the slight accumulation over the previous week.

The five major steel items comprise rebar, wire rod, hot-rolled coil (HRC), cold-rolled coil and medium plate. During the survey period, stocks of most major steel items declined by varying degrees except for those of medium plate which rose by 1.7% on week, the survey results showed. Steel production among
