Wet weather disrupts Australia's met coal supply, driving up prices

The supply of Australian metallurgical coal has experienced disruptions recently as more met coal producers in the country have announced force majeure after cyclone-induced torrential rains and floods interrupted production, logistics and port operations in Queensland, the source of most of Australia's met coal exports. Market concerns over potential supply woes soon fuel up FOB prices of forward-delivery Australian met coal cargoes, Mysteel Global learned.
