WEEKLY: China ferrous scrap prices climb further, mills' stocks accumulate

Steel Scrap Demand Inventory Price
Chinese prices for steel scrap continued to strengthen during the past week, driven by further rises in finished steel prices, the results of Mysteel's latest survey showed.
On January 16, Mysteel assessed China's composite steel scrap price at Yuan 2,419/tonne ($347.1/t), higher by Yuan 16/t or 0.6% from a week earlier, while the country's national spot price of HRB400E 20mm diameter rebar had climbed 0.4% on week to Yuan 3,351/t, both including the 13% VAT.     Buoyant sentiment
