DAILY: China's thermal coal falls as cold snap impact falls short of expectations

China's domestic thermal coal prices fell at a faster pace on Monday, as the latest cold snap failed to stimulate buying interest at northern ports, while continued price declines in producing regions further weakened cost support.
On Monday, Mysteel assessed 5,500 kcal/kg NAR thermal coal at Yuan 700/tonne ($100.5/t), FOB northern ports with VAT, down Yuan 4/t from last Friday. The 5,000 kcal/kg and 4,500 kcal/kg NAR grades also slipped by Yuan 4/t to Yuan 614/t and Yuan 524/t, respectively.   Although the National Meteorological Center issued
