WEEKLY: Aust., Brazilian iron ore shipments rebound 7.4% WoW

After falling for three weeks straight, the total volume of iron ore dispatched to global destinations from the 20 ports and 17 mining companies in Australia and Brazil under Mysteel's regular tracking had rebounded to 23.3 million tonnes during January 19-25, higher by 1.6 million tonnes or 7.4% on week.

The increase in the shipments was driven by Australia. The country's iron ore deliveries from its 11 ports during the latest survey period jumped by 1.7 million tonnes or 10.5% from the previous week to 17.8 million tonnes. The volume of Australian ore sent to its largest consumer China also
