DAILY: China's spot thermal coal firms up amid tighter Indonesian supply

China's domestic thermal coal prices rose notably on February 9, as bullish sentiment strengthened amid the tightening supply from Indonesia, since the Indonesian government is considering slashing 2026 output quotas.

On Monday, Mysteel assessed 5,500 kcal/kg NAR thermal coal at Yuan 703/tonne ($101.7/t) FOB northern ports with VAT, up Yuan 2/t from last Friday. Prices for 5,000 kcal/kg and 4,500 kcal/kg NAR grades each rose Yuan 3/t to Yuan 619/t and Yuan 532/t, respectively. The rally was driven by the
