DAILY: China's thermal coal hikes accelerate amid Indonesian output curbs

China's spot thermal coal prices rose at a faster pace on February 12, as market participants stepped up domestic coal procurement amid growing concerns over potential supply shortages linked to Indonesia's production quota restrictions, sources said.

On Thursday, Mysteel assessed 5,500 kcal/kg NAR thermal coal at Yuan 711/tonne ($103/t) FOB northern ports with VAT, up Yuan 4/t on day. Prices for 5,000 kcal/kg and 4,500 kcal/kg NAR grades each rose Yuan 5/t to Yuan 631/t and Yuan 544/t, respectively. Offer prices continued to climb, with 5,500
