The weakness of China's spot coking coal market is expected to persist after the Chinese New Year holiday over February 15-23, mainly weighed by the slow recovery of restocking interest among most downstream plants, Mysteel learned.
The nine-day holiday marked a stagnancy of market activity, with both suppliers and buyers leaving the market for the festival.   Domestic coking coal auctions had stopped on February 14, with no miners offering any tonnages for sale.
